History of Haik, Minvielle, Grubbs & D’Albor Law Firm

Ted Haik founded Haik, Minvielle and Grubbs in 1971

Our History

Haik, Minvielle, Grubbs & D’Albor was founded by my father Ted Haik as the Haik law firm around 1971 in New Iberia, Louisiana. He was born and raised in New Iberia, but left to go to school, where he met my mother. Around 1971 he moved back to New Iberia and opened up his own law firm. Years later, Leon Minvielle began to practice with my father, and is still a partner today. My uncle Haik, a retired federal judge, also joined the firm around that time. He practiced with Haik, and Minvielle law firm for a number of years until he was elected to the state bench as a court district judge in 1985. Over the years, the firm continued to evolve, and more lawyers came to practice and work within the firm. Will Grubbs, a current partner of Haik, Minvielle, Grubbs & D’Albor, joined the law firm in the early 1990’s. The law firm currently has seven attorneys in New Iberia, LA and New Orleans, including our newest partner JP D’albor.

We take a lot of pride in the partners who have worked with my father for so many years. They are really like father figures or uncles to me. I have known them my whole life and they have known me most of my life. We have a family, fun atmosphere that we provide. We try to keep it as light-hearted as possible, not only with our staff but the people who come into the office. When it is time to take things seriously, we know when to be serious in that situation and address the legal needs of our clients.

Haik, Minvielle, Grubbs & D’Albor takes a lot of pride in our history and being rooted in our community for such a long time. We are nothing without our community.
